How vaginal suppositories work in yeast infection and how to use them?
-
Hello, I am a dancer by profession. I am 26 years old and suffering from vaginal yeast infection. It causes irritation, discharge and intense itchiness of the vagina and the vulva . I have consulted with a clinician. She has diagnosed my infection. She gave me a prescription for vaginal suppositories. I am not sure about how to use them and I could not ask anyone out of awkwardness. I am also wondering how this will work in treating my infection. Can anyone please help me with this?

@anwesha Vaginal suppositories are solid, oval-shaped medical treatments that are inserted into the vagina using a plastic applicator. They become liquid within the vagina as they warm to the body’s temperature. A vaginal suppository provides targeted relief from conditions affecting the vagina. They also tend to be fast acting due to their rapid absorption. It works by stopping the growth of yeast (fungus) that causes the infection. It may be best to use vaginal suppositories before going to bed. Lying down will reduce leakage of the product that could occur while sitting or standing. Wearing sanitary pads will protect underwear and bed linen from leakage.
