Hello, my mother is suffering from psoriatic arthropathy. She is 56 years old. Her symptoms include pain, with joint stiffness present for > 30 minutes in the morning (after waking) or after prolonged inactivity. Then it Improves with activity. Her hearing loss is also increased. She takes intra-articular steroid injections for treatment of enthesitis, and dactylitis. She suffers a lot due to her illness. I would like to know the prognosis of this disease.

@tintin psoriatic arthritis can’t be cured. With treatment, though, most people with psoriatic arthritis do well. Pain and swelling usually persist but are controlled with pain medicines and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs. About 20% of people with psoriatic arthritis will develop a destructive form of the disease.
