Yoga poses to relieve menstrual pain.
Hi, I am 23 years old. I have unbearable pain during periods. Can anyone suggest yoga poses to relieve menstrual pain?
@nia Hello and welcome to the forum. Some exercise/yoga poses may help you to deal with period pain. Here are some yoga poses for menstrual pain.
- Child’s pose- This pose targets the menstrual pain in the back. For child’s pose, start with your knees on the floor. Fold forward, extend your arms, and bend down as far as you can comfortably go. If possible lean your forehead on the mat in front of you for five slow, diaphragmatic breaths, or breaths using your belly rather than your chest. This pose will relax your hips and back muscles.
- Cat-Cow pose- This pose targets your back and abdominal muscles. To perform a cow pose start with your hand and your knees. Make sure your hands, knees are aligned under your knees. Stretch your head upwards at the sky. The arch formed will help your back muscles to relax.
- Reclining twist- This pose will benefit your lower back and belly. This pose will relax your shoulder back, hips, and shoulder.
